I am behind (sortof) on posting. Dad and I went to the state fair Friday-before-last. I took over 200 pictures that day; but they will not all end up on my blog. :)
"wind generators" I call them windmills. :)
My ticket.
Old sleigh bells
Old fair tickets
There were a lot of people there that day. Thankfully we got a good parking spot.
We packed a lunch and got stamped in our pursuit of it. See the cow?
There were a lot of vegetables and things at the "John Deere Agriculture Building".
The butter cow. :) The other butter sculptures this year were "Dr. Seuss" themed.
Candy for sale
Having their picture taken
Live bees
Dad talking to a couple of bee-keepers
Do you suppose Cinderella's pumpkin was this fat? :)
The new arena had a nice big screen overhead to view the action. This horse won a lot of ribbons.
They had plenty of beautiful draft horses at the fair.
Dad enjoyed seeing this type of horse equipement.
Getting a haircut in the sheep barn
This goat bit my purse.
Dad chatting with the Walker lawnmower guys.
Two creepy rides
At the "Elwell Family Food Center" they kept the food items from competitions behind glass.
From the sky lift--a woman singing and playing the guitar
Dark cherry and chocolate ice cream in the "Varied Industries Building"
So glad you had fun!! Those pumpkins are HUGE......wowsiers!

ReplyDeleteBWA HA HA HA!!! That so cracked me up! :D
Dad hates those windmills. I think he calls them naughty words in his head. Out loud he just says they are blights on the landscape, or something like that.
You should post pictures of the other butter sculptures if you have them. I would like to see them.
I wish we could have gone to the fair this year. We havn't gone in ages. We did, however get to go to the zoo on Saturday, which was one hundred billion times better than the fair, so I am happy. I'm an animal freak. :D I'll be making a blog or two about it soon. Maybe I'll do a quick one tonight if I get done reading my stuff soon. It's getting close to midnight...
I like the picture of you and your dad together. Cozy!
ReplyDeleteI love the pumpkins! I didn't know they could even get that big!
